5-Axis Machining Centers

Review Sufeng multi-angle machining options, including the TF320 3+2 model. Check rotary envelope, workholding, tool access and programming requirements.

How to select 5-axis machining centers

Indexed or simultaneous machining

TF320 is presented as a 3+2 model. In indexed machining the rotary axes position the part before three-axis cutting; simultaneous five-axis cutting requires separately confirmed machine and control capabilities.

Rotary envelope and access

Check part and fixture clearances at each intended angle, including tool and spindle access, rather than comparing only static dimensions.

Programming and verification

Review the 3D model, workholding datum, control functions and matching postprocessor. Agree a representative trial cut and acceptance method.

Frequently asked questions

Is 3+2 the same as simultaneous five-axis machining?

No. A 3+2 process positions the rotary axes and then machines with three linear axes. Simultaneous five-axis motion during cutting is a different capability and must be confirmed separately.

Will additional axes always shorten cycle time?

No. Additional axes help when they reduce setups or improve tool access. Compare the complete cycle on a representative part, including loading and programming requirements.
